What do I want to be when i grow up?
Well that really depends on what happens in the next two years of my life. I know that a lot of people want to graduate and start there career young and enjoy there life later on, but i am really feeling led to spend the next phase of my life learning in a nontraditional way by living and working abroad. Right now i am leaning towards pursuing a career in intelligence or going to law school, but not until I feel like I am done with my exploratory phase. So short answer, i have no idea.

Who inspire's me the most?
Man there are a lot of people who i admire. Several family members that give me hope for the future; I have my cousing, my father, and my uncle who i feel like have really accomplished some great things in there lifetime. Outside of my family members and of course my fellow bloggers, i have to say that there is no one individual, but people that i see living their dreams instead of living for the dollar.

Where do I see myself in 10 years?
Balincing between spending time with my family (hoping for a wife and child by then), my job, and i also hope to be involved with some community development project by then. To be honest i feel like jay i need to master 10 min ahead before i can seriously think about my dreams for my day to day life 10 years from now.

What will i do if my dreams don't come true?
Well i always want to keep computers as a hobby, but if my dreams don't come true I will get more involved in computer arts. I think i will be a computer teacher at a high school, I remember my high school teacher taught computer music (we learned sequencing software), multimedia (we learned used macromedia director) and telecommunications (adobe web design suite).

Late Night, As Usual...

Name: Keenan Laron Bowens
Age: 23

Grad: Carnegie Mellon University, MBA (Finance)

What do you want to be when you grow up?
I wish I knew exactly what I want to do with my life. The only thing that's certain is that I don't want to be sitting in somebody's corporate harness. I guess that makes me a perfect candidate for an MBA, huh? Many things are in mind at the moment; I want to be some kind of business owner in the not-so-distant future. Right now, playing in properties seems most likely; I like real estate, and can see its profit potential. Once I have an income stream, it's what I'll dedicate most of my capital to.

Who inspires you most?
My father is a big influence for me. He's entirely entrepreneurial, very motivated and goal-oriented. I hope one day to have those qualities. I'm also inspired by many of the rich dudes whose books I've read: Robert Kiyosaki, Dolf DeRoos and Douglas Andrew to name just a few. The only thing left is synthesizing all of their experience into a strategy to take over the world...

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years, I'll be on the beach. What beach? I don't know, and I don't really care. If the sand is soft and the water clear, I couldn't give a damn less which one it was. I imagine I'll have a wife and some children that I'll pretend to hate. If all goes as planned, I'll be checking my accounts to make sure the deposits from my business(es) come in on time and making strategic decisions for a nonprofit or two. As long as the revenues exceed the expenses and I don't have to work for that condition to hold, I'll consider my job well done.

What would you do if your dreams couldn't come true?
If my dreams couldn't come true, I think I'd be a gym teacher. The dress code is super casual, and I'd get another chance to laugh at the kids who get punished in dodgeball. If that secondary dream didn't work out, I'd teach either math, business, English or Spanish.

What do you want to be when you grow up:
Rich. Sucessful.  For real though, I have no idea what I want to be.  I have so many interests and aspirations, it's hard to pick one thing.  I just want to do something that I enjoy.  Right now, I'm doing this athletic publications thing.  It's a lot of fun.  I've learned a lot and the perks are great.

Who Inspires you most:
Gotta be family first.  Without my parents, who knows what or where I would be.  Their countless sacrifices have put me in the best position to succeed, and I owe it to them to reach my full potential (whatever the hell that is).  Failure can never be an option.  A lot has been invested in me and I can't disappoint.  I know my younger brother looks up to me, so that's another source of inspiration to me.  Then you have my friends, the close few I grew up with at home, each one has had a hand in making me the man I am today.  Lastly, there's these clowns I'm blogging with.  Seriously, the potential of this braintrust is ridiculous.  You've got the total package here: creativity, artistry, intelligence.  When you're surrounded by all this talent and potential, you're bound to absorb some of it.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years:
Retired on a beach in the Pacific.  I wouldn't mind being married w/a couple of rugrats.  I don't know what I would be doing nor do I care.  I want to be successful... doesn't have to be material... I just want to be doing something I love and be good at it.

What would you do if your dreams coulnd't come true:
If I couldn't do sports or business, I'd be a lawyer.  I always wanted to be one as a child, and my family thinks I have a knack for making winning arguments.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A grown up. In all seriousness, I want to make movies, television and web content. I want to own a production company. I want to be the black Judd Apatow.

Who inspires you most?
Family and friends is the obvious answer. I have the fortune to grow up in a family that values education and creativity. I am the luckiest bastard on earth when it comes to my friends, all of them driven, smart, creative and worthwhile. (Except for one, you know who you are.)

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I doubt I’ll be married. Doubt I’ll have kids. Hopefully by 32 I will be entrenched in the industry, a few features under my belt. Maybe working on the staff of a TV show.

What would you do if your dreams couldn't come true?
I’d either become a professional basketball coach at the high school level, and teach film. Or I’d go to law school, make as much money as possible and retire at 45.

Music of My Mind

Name: Alandis Brassel

Age:23

Hometown: Newport News, VA/Memphis, TN

Undergraduate College: Hampton University, Music Engineering Technology

Graduate School: New York University, Music Business

What do you want to be when you grow up?:
Simply put, a great music producer. I want to make music that touches peoples souls, music that speaks of experiences and the real world. The world is missing that right now. Cats like Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye did it back in the 70's. They made tasteful music that touched the hearts and changed the lives of millions. I want to do that for this generation.

Who inspires you the most?:
Definitely my family and friends. My wife's tenacity, my parent's wisdom, and my friends' different perspectives on life have all inspired me in some way. Besides them, I'd have to say Quincy Jones (the ultimate musician/music producer) and David (yep...from the Bible...he was he epitome of a songwriter, a man after God's own heart. He was able to translate all of his trials and triumphs into songs that are still relevant today.)

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?:
Already married, so by then a child or two. I hope to have established myself as a reputable songwriter/producer. I'll be making music in some form or fashion, whether I'm in the studio or behind the desk running my own company.

What would you do if music didn't work out?:
I would probably be a psychologist. I like problem solving and helping people straighten things out. I also like listening to people. "People observation" is usually how my songwriting process starts.

The Grind Years

Name: Anderson J. Franklin, Jr. ("Jay")
Age: 24
Undergrad College (major): Hampton University; Broadcast Journalism
Graduate School (major): New York University; Film
What do you want to be when you grow up?:
- It's weird sometimes I think I know what I DON'T  want to be more than I know what I want.  I mean who wants to go through as much school as I have to be a f^&k up. In a nutshell I want to be striving toward a clear objective.  I'm taking the next two yrs. to figure out the plan.
Who Inspires you the most?:
- On a superficial level, Jay-Z (People Talking & U Don't Know are 2 great songs), Kanye West, Jordan, etc.... On a slightly deeper level, moms, pops, sisters, and my Brother.  To be perfectly honest I get inspired by the cats who I'm sharing this blog with.  If we can all rise and achieve mental and material wealth together, s^&t you can't beat that.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?:
It's hard for me to be that much of a visionary.  I'm a dreamer as it is, so I'm trying to remain more focussed on what's going on right now.  Forget ten years, I need to think about the next ten minutes and work on my disciplines.
What would you do if your dreams couldn't come true?:
"It must be borne in mind that the tragedy of life does not lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy of life lies in having no goal to reach... Not failure, but low aim is sin."
- Dr. Benjamin E Mays (Former President of Morehouse College)

What do you want to be when you grow up:
I want to continue to do whatever the hell I'm doing what now. What's more important about advertising to me right now is that I thoroughly enjoy it. Coming up with crazy ideas, that make laugh, or connect some other way emotionally. The plan is that advertising continue to make me as happy as it does now. i don't really care what the title I have is, as long as I'm still enjoying myself. Just like relationships, if the good outweighs the bad, I'll take it.

Who Inspires you most:
My family and my friends. My mother is absolutely amazing, a living inspiration and never ever gave up, or doubted me. My brother is one of the most genuine people that I've ever met, and has had a huge impact on my development thus far. My father…there are no words that can express what he means to me, and this likely explains why our phone conversations never exceed 10 minutes. The older I get the more of him I see in myself, our connection is ridiculous.

Then you got these guys that I'm posting with, and my friends from high school and my childhood. All unlike anyone else I've ever met, and the potential and talent of all of them push me even more.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years:
Married, some kids, happy, and loving what I'm doing. I believe any material success will be a result of the passion that I have, so there is no way I could proclaim a job level for myself. We'll just ride out whatever God has in store for me.

What would you do if your dreams coulnd't come true:
Man I would love to rededicate, and connect with music more. The emotional appeal of music easily trumps advertising to me, good music gives me chills. Now if I couldn't do anything related to art whatsoever…hmmm…I might want to be a farmer, they seem to love what they do, and live a very controlled life.
